Rules of Tailgating

A time-honored tradition, tailgating is one of the must-dos in this world and should be on everyone’s bucket list. Tailgating is basically having a pre-party typically in the parking lot of a sports stadium before the event. Food is grilled out usually, and fans sit around and drink beer, soda, and other beverages while waiting for the game to start.

Bounce Sporting Club in Chicago and NYC is the best sports bar with big screen TVs, private corporate event rooms, excellent food, and the best-tasting beer. We aim to be your go-to location for all of your sports event viewing (that is, of course, when you are not tailgating or attending a sporting event in person). In this blog post, we’ll go over a few of the rules of tailgating. Contact us today for corporate event booking!

Bring Food and Drink

When you are tailgating, you need to ensure you have plenty of food and drink, especially if you are the one being invited to someone else’s tailgating party. While the host will most likely have enough for everyone, it’s rude to show up empty handed. Plus, especially when it comes to adult beverages, when you bring your own beer, you will be guaranteed to have the drink you want the most.

Drink in Moderation

It’s pretty easy to get drunk. There’s not much rocket science involved: you drink more than your body can process, ending up with you having no idea where you are, or worse — vomiting. In all honesty, no one likes hanging out with drunk people. They have no idea what they are saying; they often need help; and they cause worry. Plus, odds are, you paid a lot of money for a sporting ticket. Bounce Sporting Club in Chicago and NYC asks the question: do you really want to waste that because you are too drunk to attend the game, remember the game, or you get kicked out?

Pack Out Your Trash

Remember that you are on someone else’s property, even if it’s just a parking lot. Still, you’re not standing in a landfill, so don’t throw your trash on the ground, expecting someone else to pick up after you. Pack up your trash, and take it home with you. No one likes a slob or a litter bug. Pick up someone else’s trash too because it’s the right thing to do.

Leave the Football, Soccer Ball, Basketball, Or Other Ball at Home

A crowded parking lot full of grills that have flames coming out of them, kids who are running around playing, and people sitting in lawn chairs enjoying the weather, their drinks and each other is no place for you to demonstrate your Tom Brady throwing arm or your LeBron James dribble moves. The last thing you want to do is start a fire, hit a kid in the face, or break someone’s car window.

Tailgating has been around since the American Civil War when spectators would bring picnic baskets, go out to the battlefields, and cheer for their side to win. Since then, tailgating is a tradition many Americans love, full of good food and drink and good times with friends and family before a big game. You can find tailgate parties at your local Friday night high school football games to March Madness.
